We began volunteering for the radical women-run organization “Botanical Bus” https://thebotanicalbus.org in 2021. Feeling wholly inspired by this grass-roots movement to extend healthcare to the Latinx and Indigenous communities, we decided to add to the cause. The idea of the “Proyecto Pomada para la Gente/ Salve for the People Project” was born. We have made & donated 450 tins of salve to the Botanical Bus, and have since expanded this project with donations to public schools, local healthcare clinics for low-income and unhoused folks, homeless camps, and as a part of employee-wellness packages for non-profit healthcare agencies.
